Still time to join!

It’s not too late to join the LO Dragon Gymnastics team for our 2017-2018 season!  LO girls in grades 6-12 can compete on the pre-team* (little to no experience necessary) or the team (minimum skills required, Gold Xcel).  Please contact Coach Jenn at jennifer.carlson@lok12.org ASAP to find out how to come to our next practice and join the team!  More information, including costs, practices times, etc., can be found on the other tabs of the webpage.

*Pre-team is a great start for gymnasts who have have never competed or have minimal competition experience.  Pre-team will compete in the fun meet categories in 2 of the 5 meets listed on PaySchools (Motown Madness at LOHS and Funk-a-delic at Troy).  Each will cost $90.  This will be reflected on PaySchools shortly.

 

Practice Times for 2017-2018

We will be practicing at the MSCA Gym in Rochester on Mondays and Thursdays from 4-7pm, with our first practice on September 21st.  See the Schedule page for the link to Google calendar.  We typically follow the LOHS calendar, but there are some exceptions.  There are some Mondays and Thursdays marked as NO PRACTICE.

Be sure to visit the schedule page – PG Memorial, Motown Madness, Motor City Classic, Funk-a-delic and State Meet weekends have been posted.  As always, day and session times will be announced a week or two before the meet.

“Try Us Out” Day*:

• *Signed parent waiver required (please print and bring signed or have a parent with you to sign the day of)
• These are not try-outs – it’s a chance for you to come practice with us and see if it is a good fit.  See the FAQ page for more info.
• We encourage all girls interested to come to our “try-us-out” day,” even if you aren’t sure about your skill level.

Pizza Mondays at Jet’s in January Fundraiser!

Make Monday your pizza day and support the LO Dragon Gymnastics team in the process!

Order from Jet’s Pizza on Lapeer Rd (in the K-Mart/Hollywood Mkt plaza) only between 10am and 10pm Mondays in January and tell them you’d like to support the LO Dragon Gymnastics Team.  They need to hear this so they know we have families participating. No flyer necessary.

• Sunday, February 12^th – Motor City Classic Meet, Detroit Cobo Center
  • Golds: 7:45am, Silvers: 11:50am

Physical Needed

A current physical (given after April 15 of the past school year) is needed to participate in 2015-2016.  Please fill out the Lake Orion physical form and return to Coach Jenn (not their schools – I will copy and then send to the buildings).  Pages 1-4 are required, page 5 is not because we are a club sport and not part of the pay to play program.

2016-2017 Calendar & PaySchool Available (8/22/16)

The 2016-2017 Calander and PaySchool is now available.

Changes for this year

The season is split into three parts, pre-season, competitive season, and post-season.  Competitive season starts the same week in Novemeber as winter sports and ends at our Xcel State meet in April.  Tuesday practices are now 4:00-6:30pm on weeks we have Thursday practices and 3:30-7pm on weeks we do not have Thursday practices.  We have access to the gym from 5:30-7pm on Tuesdays at the CERC. Thursday practices will be every week starting in January.  A large portion of due dates are before November 15th – this is to confirm commitment to the competitive season and to meet deadlines for meet registrations.  We are practicing more hours a week, which means there was an increase in price.  In addition, the competitive season is significantly longer than the pre- or post-season.

The January, February, and State Meets are already scheduled.  The March and April meets will be added as soon as I have information.

Leotards will only need to be purchaced if you are new to the team or need a new size.
